About Bridge of Hope

Bridge of Hope is a Christ-centered, nonprofit ministry located in City Heights, San Diego, dedicated to strengthening families in the midst of transition, including refugees relocating from around the world, families leaving homeless and domestic violence shelters or recovery homes. Bridge of Hope serves as a safe haven and support system, offering both practical help and a sense of dignity and hope to individuals and families rebuilding their lives.

Many families arrive with little more than hope and Bridge of Hope meets them at that critical moment by providing practical resources and compassionate care, reminding them they are seen, valued, and not alone. Bridge of Hope provides furniture, household items, clothing, and food to families sent to them from local San Diego agencies. It also provides resources and programs to help special groups including the elderly, poor, single parents, veterans and people with disabilities. Currently, it provides food for approximately 1,500 families each month.

Grace Point Church has been involved with this ministry for several years through financial support, donations, and volunteers to work on the regular weekly needs as well as on special projects. Through Bridge of Hope, we have the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Christ - meeting real needs, restoring dignity and bringing hope to families in transition. Main Services Provided

New Family Wednesdays

This is a one time service. It is done by appointment only and the families come to Bridge of Hope with their respective Case Workers. That day they can collect some furniture pieces, pick out items from the kitchen department, receive bedding, bathroom items, clothing and food. Ten to twelve families are served every Wednesday.

Friday Food Distribution

Every Friday an outdoors market is set up for large scale food distribution. A variety of produce, breads & pastries, meats, and other dry food items are distributed. Usually 250-300 people are served each Friday.

Saturday Community Day

This operates each second and fourth Saturdays of each month. The clothing closet is open to all who want to shop, food is distributed and the community is welcomed to join in a variety of arts and crafts.
